Introduction to night photography PDF Print E-mail

Build up your photographic skills in the art of capturing life after dark.

This night photography course runs on various Wednesday evenings outside of daylight savings time.
The workshop will start with a theory session covering the all details you need to know to take low-light and night time photographs. We will then take this knowledge out on the streets of Sydney capturing the trail lights of moving cars as well as the lights of the city.

Through this night photography workshop you will learn how to visualise things differently at night compared to daylight.
This course is suitable for people with limited photographic knowledge. You will need to have a DSLR camera.

Maximum class size: 10

A final weather check will be taken  the day prior to the course. If it looks like rain we will postpone the course to another date.

Instructor

Steve Piggott

Born in England, Steven came to Australia in the early 70’s and currently lives south of Sydney in the beautiful Illawarra.

Starting his photographic career in 1983 he worked, as many people do, in retail camera sales. In 1986 he started studies for his diploma of photography at Sydney TAFE (Ultimo) while also working for various photographic studios shooting portraits, still life and weddings.

After Tafe, he opened his own photographic studio, which he successfully ran for a number of years, until once again returning to the area of photographic sales.

Steven is the content manager and instructor for the Foto Riesel training centre.
